The List of Baronial Awards

The Vinhold Grape Leaf
Since the time of Anthony the Sinister, first Baron of Vinhold, it has been the pleasure of the Baron and Baroness of Vinhold to award those gentles who have enriched the Barony by acts of great artistry or service with the Grape Leaf.

VIA
It was the desire of Joseph LaTour, Baron of Vinhold, to recognize those gentles whose deeds prove them to be a vinholder, at least at heart. These are the Good Folk who march to war with us, help us tend our wounded and rejoice with us in peace. To this end, he created the VIA award. These letters V – I – A represent the phrase, “Vinholder in Absentia” as these gentles are absent from our shores, but not from our hearts. The word, VIA, also means  “road” in Latin, and expresses our sincere hope that every road leads home….to Vinhold.

Camarilla de Vinhold
It is the earnest desire of the Barony of Vinhold to acknowledge those who reside outside of its borders yet have given of their loyalty to the barony. Therefore, at All-Hallows in the 32nd year of the Kingdom of the West, did Baron Joseph and Baroness Cassandra create the Camarilla de Vinhold, to honor those individuals who have given of their time and efforts, that all might know of their support for the Barony. As a camarilla is a circle of friends, therefore the token of the Camarilla de Vinhold is a circle of gold dependant from a ribbon.

Opus
An Opus is a body of artistic works, those members of the Barony who consistantly strive for excellence in the research and practise of an Artform or Science, and the sharing of same within the populace, should be rewarded for their artistic/academic endeavours, thus was created the Order of the Opus of Vinhold.

Vineyardist
In the vineyard, the vineyardist toils to train new vines to the vineyard frame to allow it to fully grow and mature eventually contributing to the harvest for many years to come. Not only does he make sure that the vine is well rooted, but he also trains the vine to become part of the vineyard, binding it to the other individual plants as well. In the same manner, the Order of the Vineyardist was created to honor those individuals who through their unstinting efforts, have brought newcomers along and through their guidance, and example have helped them to become contributing members to the Barony of Vinhold. The symbol of this order shall be a simple armband of linen supporting individual strips of the same cloth; much like the strips of linen used by the vineyardist to gently bind the new vines to the vineyard frame.

Baroness's Treasure
There are those who, in word and deed, express the love and pride of their Barony.  These individuals are constantly viewed as examples of what it means to be a member of Vinhold.  They are an inspiration to others within these lands and without and are to be treasured. The Baroness’ Treasure was created to recognize these individuals. This recognition shall only be given once a year to no more than two individuals a year and at the pleasure of Her Excellency.
